David Miller

Prior to becoming a psychiatrist, Dr. Miller obtained a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Engineering from Lehigh University and The Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  He graduated Rutgers (Robert Wood Johnson) Medical School, and completed his internship and residency in psychiatry at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital.

 

Dr. David Miller has over 30 years of experience in providing the most modern and informed outpatient psychopharmacologic treatment, primarily in Northern New Jersey.  He is the founder of Summit Psychiatric and Counseling Associates, a multi-disciplinary psychiatric/psychological team that has been providing private pharmacologic and psychological treatment to a diverse group of patients since 1987.

 

While Dr. Miller is a graduate of Dr. Aaron Beck’s post-graduate training program in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) at the University of Pennsylvania, he has devoted the majority of his practice to psychopharmacologic evaluation and treatment for the past 20 years.

 

Although Dr. Miller primarily offers treatment in an outpatient setting, his previous experiences have included presentations to primary physicians on the efficacy of modern psychopharmacologic treatments; having been on the faculty of the University of Rochester serving as the clinical director of a research unit for treatment of young chronic patients; Director of Outpatient services at the renowned Fair Oaks Hospital in Summit, New Jersey; Director of an Involuntary Unit at a New Jersey Hospital; and subsequently being an attending and consulting psychiatrist at several General Hospitals in New Jersey including; Overlook Hospital; Morristown Memorial Hospital and Saint Barnabas Hospital.
